Prequel

We've often taken our children and grandchildren out for a sail - either singly or in a group. We took one trip in 1999 was to see the tall ships come up the bay and we had our oldest daughter and her husband

and her youngest son (on her lap), my second daughter's son (on the left) and my son (who was at the wheel) and his son (on the right). We also had this daughter's three children on the boat alone or with a sibling when they were older.

My second daughter's children mostly were on the boat when they were younger and down in the Miami area when we had it down there.

They took day trips and overnight trips with us when they lived here in Maryland,

but now they live in Texas, so the two younger children haven't been on the boat yet.

My son's daughter had not been on the boat much. Her father and brother had been but in 1999 when they went, she was too little to go. So when she came to visit us we wanted to take her out. Unfortunately the weather in the latter part of the week was not going to be good enough to sail, so we had to go Monday.

After we came back, she and I went swimming in the pool at the marina.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday July 29, 30 and 31, 2008

On Tuesday it was bad weather so we basically stayed in the house and we made the beds up for her father and brother for when they came up on Thursday.

Wednesday I had some errands and so I took her with me, and we had some ice cream at a drive-through.

Thursday, my son and his son (our grandson) arrived.
